이제 산은 트럼펫을 품에 안고, 폐목선 안에서 밤을 지새웠다. 바깥 바다는 어두웠고 세상은 여전히 차가웠지만 그는 그곳에서 희미한 희망의 빛을 찾으려 했다. 12살, 세상으로부터 철저히 고립된 산은 혼자가 될수록 더 간절히 살아내고 싶어졌다. 어둠 속에 갇힌 운명 속에서 무엇이라도 의지해 빛을 찾아 길을 만들고 싶었다. 그리고 이제 그 빛은 트럼펫의 멜로디 속에서 그를 기다렸다.

목선재의 밤은 그를 뒤척이게 했다. 더 이상 잠들 수 없는 밤, 산은 목선재 갑판에 웅크리고 앉아 하염없이 바다를 바라보았다. 그가 바라다본 것은 어둠 속 바다가 아니라, 시커먼 물결 위로 솟아나던 빛의 알갱이였다. 어둘수록 더 빛나 보이는 수많은 알갱이들을 산은 자신의 가슴 속에 차곡차곡 쌓아나갔다. 그래야만 했고 그럴 수밖에 없었던 산의 시간, 그는 그 알갱이들에 의지해 아버지를 소환했고 그것은 ‘밤하늘의 트럼펫’이라는 멜로디가 되어 물결 위 빛의 알갱이들을 춤추게 했다. 이제 산의 멜로디는 바람의 나래를 타고 자유롭게 허공 속으로 스며들며 길을 만들고 있었다.

 

Now, with the trumpet in his arms, San spent the night inside an abandoned wooden ship.The sea outside was dark and the world was still cold, but he tried to find a glimmer of hope there.

 

At the age of 12, San was completely isolated from the world, and the more alone he became, the more desperately he wanted to survive. He wanted to find light and make a way by relying on something in the fate of veing trapped in darkness.

 

And now the light waited for him in the melody of the trumpt. Mokseonjae's nights

made him toss and turn. On the night when he could no longer sleep, San crouched on the deck of Mokseonjae and gazed endlessly at the sea.

 

What he was looking at was not the sea in the dark, but a speck of light rising above the black waves. San piled up countless grains that seemed brighter as they got darker, one by one, in his heart.

 

It was the only way, and it had to be done. In those moments, he summoned his father through those grains, and it became a melody called 'Trumpet of the Night Sky' and made the particles of light dance on the waves.

 

Now, the melody of the San was freely flowing into the air, riding the wind and making a path.
