Eric Scott Reed (born June 21, 1970)는 미국 재즈 피아니스트이자 작곡가이다. 그의 그룹 Black Note는 1990년대 몇 개의 앨범을 발매했다.
리드는 펜실바니아 필라델피아에서 태어났다. 그는 2살에 피아노를 연주하기 시작했고 5살에 목사인 아버지의 교회에서 피아노를 연주했다. 7살에 Philadelphia's Settlement 음악학교에서 공식적으로 공부를 시작했다. 11살에 그의 가족은 로스앤절로스로 이사를 갔으며 그는 the R. D. Colburn School of Arts에서 공부했다.
1986년 5월에 Colburn School에서 리드는 Wynton Marsalis를 만났으며 이 만남은 그의 경력에 큰 도움이 되었다. 캘리포니아 주립대학인 Northridge의 1년동안 18살이었던 리드는 마샬리스와 함께 잠시 동안 연주여행을 했다. 그는 그 일 년 후 마샬리스의 7중주에 들어가 1990년에서 1991년 까지 그와 함께 일했다.
