Abbey Lincoln의 앨범 You Gotta Pay the Band(1991)은 Stan Getz(1927년 2월 2일 - 1991년 6월 6일)가 마지막으로, 그러니까 게츠의 사망 4개월 전쯤에 녹음한 앨범으로 알려져 있습니다. 당대의 마스터들인 테너 색소폰에 Stan Getz는 물론이고 Hank Jones의 피아노와 Charlie Haden의 베이스, Mark Johnson (2)의 드럼과 비올라의 Maxine Roach (tracks: 1, 10)등 화려한 라인업으로 연주된 앨범입니다. 특히 테너 색소폰의 스탠 게츠는 당시 암에 걸렸지만 전혀 플레이에 영향을 미치지 않고 무사히 앨범을 녹음하게 됩니다. 애비 링컨은 독특한 목소리로 단순한 가수로서 노래를 전달해주는 것이 아니라 시인처럼 노래를 해석했다고 합니다. (아무래도 낯선 언어이기에 그 말의 진위는 각자 느끼시기 바랍니다.)
