덱스트 고든 중기의 대표작이라 평가받는 「Montmartre Collection」 가운데 한 장. 1967년 덴마크의 재즈 클럽 ‘몽마르트’에서 벌어진 공연 실황의 일부인 이 앨범에서는, 타이틀 트랙을 비롯해 귀에 익은 스탠더드 넘버들이, 중후한 고든의 색소폰 연주와, 케니 드류, 닐스 페데르손의 적극적인 백업이 어울어지면서 새로운 옷을 입은 듯 산뜻하게 재등장하고 있다.

Body and Soul은 1967년 덴마크 코펜하겐에 있는 Jazzhus Montmartre에서 녹음한 미국 색소포니스트 덱스터 고든의 라이브 앨범이고 레이블 Black Lion에서 처음으로 발매했다. 1981년 The Montmatre Collection Vol. II과 1988년에Body and Soul에 트랙이 추가되어 재발매 되었다.
