헐, 길냥이 토토가 튀김집 사장님한테 꾸중 듣는 소리가 들려요. 저한테 쌩까고 가더니 튀김집 앞에선 알랑방귀를 뀌였을까요? 낑낑거리더니, 혼나도 싸네요. 사료대신 기름진 것을 자꾸 달라고 칭얼거리는 모습이 꼭 절 닮았어요. 전 아직도 건강에 좋지 않은 초콜릿이나 아이스크림이나 과자를 수시로 입에 달고 살아요. 그 애가 절 닮았는지, 제가 그 앨 닮았는지, 잠시 헛갈리지만요. 뭐든 절제가 필요한데요, 이 나이에도 절제하지 못하는 것들이 있네요. ㅎㅎ
허 이건, 또 뭐랍니까? 오늘 한가하게 가게 안을 어슬렁거리다가 유튜브에서 특별한 선물을 받았어요. 재즈를 깊게 듣지 않았을 때는 늘 듣는 곡들, 주로 30 ~ 60년대의 메인스트림이나 보컬 위주로 들었는데, 요즈음에는 처음으로 발견하는 연주자들, 진짜루, 놀랠 노 자예요. 어쩌면 좋아요. 어쩌면!!!
스튜디오도, 연주장도, 클럽도, 리조트 호텔이 즐비한 해변도 아닌, 숲 속 한 가운데서 연주를 하다니, 그것도 내노라, 하는 연주자들이 모여. 깜짝 놀라 동영상을 보며 무릎을 쳤네요.
그랬어요. 예전에 윤석화님이 객석의 대표였을 때 "길 떠나는 객석 작은 음악회"라는 프로그램 중의 하나로 기타리스트 이병우와 피아니스트 신이경이 청주의 운보의 집, 정원에서 연주하던 모습이 아직도 눈에 선해요. 5월 쯤이었을텐데, 초여름의 바람결에 아카시아 향기가 묻어왔어요. 기타와 피아노의 선율이 그대로 이곳이 천국이 아닐까라는 생각을 하지 않을 수 없게 했죠. 눈을 감았다, 떴다, 연주가 끝났는데도 그 뒤 한 참을 그 영상 속에서 살았던 기억이 불현듯 나네요. 그 뒤 신이경과 이병우씨 왕팬이 되었는데 이병우씨가 이번 최씨 일가와 뭔가 연결이 되어서 무척 속상했네요. 고고하게 음악가로서만 살지, 제가 남의 인생을 잠시 이렇게 푸념도 해보고. 갑자기 오늘 이분들의 연주하는 모습을 보고 추억 한 장을 꺼내보게 되었네요. 근데 그때 사실은 이찬진의 아내인 김희애씨를 보았는데 세상에 어쩜 그렇게 작고, 예쁠 수가요! 놀랐어요.ㅎㅎㅎ(이야기가 삼천포로 빠졌네요.으흐흐흐)

Bobo Stenson (born Bo Gustav Stenson, 1944)은 Jazz, classical, avant-garde등에서 활동하는 스웨덴 재즈 피아니스트입니다. 그는 Anders Jormin (bass) 과 Jon Fält (drums)과 함께 콜라보를 형성된 The Bobo Stenson Trio에서 40년 동안 활동해왔다.
Stenson은 스톡홀름에서 자주 연주를 시작하기 위해 고향인 스웨덴의 중심도시인 Västerås로 부터 떠나 스톡홀름에서 오랫동안 체류하며 연주 활동을 했던 Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Gary Burton과 같은 미국 재즈 연주자들과 동반해서 활동했다. 그는 또한 트럼펫을 연주하던 초기시절의 Don Cherry와 아주 가까운 관계를 유지하며 작업했다. Bobo Stenson이 집중적으로 활동하던 1970년대에 그는 많은 그룹들과 함께 했으며 그들 중에 Palle Danielsson과 함께하는 밴드 Rena Rama가 있으며 Arild Andersen 와 Jon Christensen과 함께했던 유명한 트리오가 있고 나중 또한 Jan Garbarek도 합류했다. 1988년에 그는 the Charles Lloyd quartet과 합류했고 1996년 이래로 Tomasz Stańko's septet/sextet과 함께 주요한 재즈 페스티벌에 출연했다.

Nei suoi ultimi dischi possiamo trovare, oltre a brani originali, firmati da lui stesso e dal contrabbassista Anders Jormin, composizioni di Ornette Coleman (di cui è uno dei migliori interpreti), di Henry Purcell, Charles Ives, Alban Berg, Astor Piazzola, insieme a musiche derivanti dalla tradizione popolare svedese: materiale rivisitato da Stenson in un'atmosfera in cui le ombre ci appaiono attraverso una luce fredda e bianca mentre lo spazio musicale è concepito e strutturato in modo assolutamente personale, a suggerirci nordiche visioni. Anders Jormin, che lo accompagna, è tra i contrabbassisti più interessanti della scena internazionale. Grande compositore e virtuoso dello strumento, collabora con Stenson dagli anni ottanta. John Fält, che Stenson stesso definisce "musicista estremamente aperto, che vuole cercare e scoprire", ha debuttato con il trio registrando il disco "Cantando".
