Jasper Somsen(1973)은 네덜란드 출신의 더블 베이스 연주자이며 작곡가 프로듀서이다. 그는 암스텔담 음악당에서 재즈와 클래식 두 분야의 더블 베이스를 공부했으며
Peter Erskine, Enrico Pieranunzi, Joey Calderazzo, Jeff Ballard, John Beasley, Jean-Michel Pilc, Eric Marienthal, Bob Sheppard, Seamus Blake, Lynne Arriale, Kendrick Scott, Justin Faulkner, E.J. Strickland, André Ceccarelli, Gary Husband, Gabriele Mirabassi등과 협연해왔으며 또한 프로듀서로도 알려져 있다.
리더로서 녹음한 앨범뿐만 아니라 Lynne Arriale, Enrico Pieranunzi, Bob Sheppard, Jean-Michel Pilc을 위한 Challenge Records의 프로류서로서 활동했는데 그는 “Dreams, Thoughts & Poetry” (The Music of Enrico Pieranunzi – 2010) and “Sardegna” (2013)들을 Jasper Somsen Group으로 녹음했고 2017년에는 Jasper Somsen Trio (featuring Jean-Michel Pilc & André Ceccarelli)의 앨범들인 “A New Episode In Life, part I & II”을 발매했다. 40여개 이상의 앨범에서 혹은 영화음악에서 그의 연주를 들을 수 있고 연주와 작곡, 가르치는 틈틈이 스쿠버 다이빙하는 하는 바쁜 스케줄을 소화한다.
